Read about the Porter Family Event
Texas natives Christina and Jamal Porter flew home from California with daughters Saniya and Savannah (aka Savvy) to celebrate Jamal’s 40th birthday with friends and family. But Jamal didn’t know there was a big surprise party waiting for him!
Savvy, who has FOP, was thrilled to find out she was a big part of the celebration as well. This was her first trip back to Texas after being hospitalized off and on for 2 years, so Christina decided to plan a "2 for 1" celebration and turned Jamal’s birthday bash into a fundraiser for the IFOPA. Around 70 people gathered to enjoy Jamal’s Jammin’ 40th and Savvy’s Soulful Brunch in San Antonio on August 31. The fun family event raised nearly $2,000 to support the work of the IFOPA.
Big thanks to the Porter family for their creativity and generosity. The IFOPA sincerely appreciates the energy and dedication so many FOP families put into fundraising and raising awareness.
