ZipperQ8 Crosses $1 Million Mark!

Success of Beloved Annual Event is Inspiration for Other FOP Fundraisers

“We are humbled and honored as a family to pass the $1 million mark through the ZipperQ event,” said Amy Gordon. “The support of our family, friends and community means the world to us, and we are excited to help fund research and support for the IFOPA.”

Amy’s son Zip was diagnosed with FOP at the age of 4 in 2011. The next year, the Gordon family held the first ZipperQ — a BBQ fundraising event that benefits the IFOPA.

The success of ZipperQ shows what a difference individuals and groups can make when it comes to fundraising for FOP. Amy says the ZipperQ event is driven by donations ranging from five dollars up to the contributions and participation of corporate sponsors and partners.

The takeaway is that no matter how big or small your fundraising event is — every fundraiser counts!

The IFOPA has the resources and tools to help you get started on your own fundraising project. Whether you dedicate your birthday celebration to fundraising for #cureFOP, or host a movie night or fun run…the IFOPA can put your fundraising efforts on the path to success.
