Whova is the 2019 FOP Family Gathering event app for smartphones and tablets that allows conference attendees to connect, decide which presentations, breakouts and community events to participate in, and provide feedback. At the 2019 FOP Family Gathering, we will be utilizing Whova to provide attendees with the conference agenda, map of the venue, attendee list and much, much more! How to Whova

Welcome to Whova - the event app for the 2019 FOP Family Gathering The Whova event app is free for event attendees. To download the app, please follow the steps below:

1. Open up the Apple Store or Google Play on your mobile device, and search for “Whova”. Or visit here on your mobile device’s web browser.
2. When you have found Whova, tap to download and install the Whova app.

You must register for the Family Gathering before you will be able to sign in. Each attendee who wants to use the app must sign in with their own email address. 

How to Sign In

1. After opening the App, click the "Sign Up/Sign In" button
2. Enter the email address you used when you registered for the 2019 FOP Family Gathering
3. Create a password and type in your name
4. Edit your profile - Other attendees will see your profile so feel free to add any information you might want to share with others. You can edit it more later. Don't forget to add a photo (top-left corner of the event Home page)

Whova Social Aspect

The Whova mobile conference app will help attendees of the 2019 FOP Family Gathering interact with one another.

For individual attendees, Whova recommends people with commonalities (e.g. location). Whova’s “attendee matchmaking” can pair attendees’ SmartProfiles after the profile is completed. After connecting, attendees can start groups for discussions, activities and much more. So what are you waiting for? Posting to Message Boards

Many attendees look forward to the Family Gathering in part because it is the largest FOP community event of the year. Whether you’re new to the community or have been involved for years you’re sure to leave this event with a few new friends who will be valuable resources over the years. One of the great things about the Whova conference app is it makes this opportunity to have meaningful conversations with other attendees so easy.

After you download the app you can begin to create your user profile from the generated individual-specific link. Your user profile is how other attendees will communicate with you directly (like instant messaging) or via a message board (@username). For example, you can plan social activities and gatherings with fellow attendees or ask organizers or attendees questions.

To post to a message board you will click on the “community” icon (looks like talk bubbles). Scan the current conversations or add your own! It’s simple and will definitely help you make the most of this special opportunity to share your experience with other families in the FOP community.

 

Searchable Attendee Listing

Explore who else is attending the event by searching the attendee listing. You can search by keywords including the individual’s first name, last name or location. After their profile populates on the app, you can click on attendees in the list, and see their profiles. From there you can request their contact information and add notes to help you remember important details about your interactions with them.

You can also click the “Recommended” tab on the top of the Attendees list to find Whova’s recommendations about people you may be interested in connecting with. 

Make sure that your profile has enough information to match with other attendees. To edit your profile, click the pen icon in your profile preview and edit away.
