In 2020, most community fundraising events had to be canceled or moved to a virtual format due to COVID-19 restrictions and health concerns for the FOP community.
Thanks to lifting restrictions and an improving outlook due to vaccinations and lowering COVID-19 impacts, three popular events are back and being held in person in 2021.
Midnight Sun Color Run, hosted by Lucy Mae McConnell and the Hill/Martin family, will be held in Kotzebue, Alaska on Saturday, July 31. As always, this 5k fun run will have color stations along the route where participants will enjoy color blasts from event sponsor booths. Want to support this long-standing event? Register or make a gift in support of "The Funnest 5K North of the Arctic Circle." In May, Lucy Mae did a special podcast about Midnight Sun Color Run. Listen now.
ZipperQ, hosted by the Gordon family, will be held in Claremore, Oklahoma on Saturday, October 2. This is the 10th Annual ZipperQ event and the Gordon family is thrilled to treat their Claremore community once again to the best BBQ the region has to offer. Sponsorships are available and there will be music, games, t-shirts and, of course, great food!
The Comedy Show, hosted by Gary Whyte, will be held on Saturday, October 16. This is the 20th Annual Comedy Show raising funds for the University of Pennsylvania FOP lab. This year’s event will be held in the Imperial Ballroom at the Bridgewater Manor. Reservations are required. For more information, contact Gary at [email protected].
