A Chance Meeting Leads to a Great FUNdraiser

When Craig Zincavage learned about FOP after meeting Krys Mauz and her family at a campground in the spring of 2021, he knew he wanted to do something to help. So he put his experience organizing golf tournaments to work and planned the Krys Mauz/Massacre on the Mullica Tournament which was held on July 24 at the Frog Rock golf course in Belhaven, New Jersey. The tournament raised $8,000 through golf teams, sponsors and a basket raffle.

Craig knew all along that the residents and guests of Belhaven Lake RV Resort were generous, but when he launched plans for the tournament, he was amazed at just how true that was. Whether it was hosting golf teams, donating prizes for the basket raffle, sponsoring holes or pitching in and doing whatever was needed, the campground community did everything they could to make the day a success.

Craig is quick to point out the success came from a hard-working, dedicated team. He was assisted by Krys Mauz, Terri Mauz, Debby Wooler Finegan, Amy Zincavage, Mike Clugsten and Charlie Stettler. The Gopshes Family from Maryland even traveled to attend the tournament.

The entire team is already looking forward to planning next year's event.

If you'd like to follow Craig's lead and organize a golf tournament or have an idea for another fundraiser to help us in the fight to #cureFOP, please contact Cathryn Roys, Fundraising and Special Projects Manager, at [email protected].
