Since it was launched in 2015, the ACT for FOP (Accelerating Cures and Treatments) Grant Program has funded 18 research grants at 14 different institutions around the world. These grants fund research focused on accelerating the development of new drugs for FOP.
The 2020 application cycle just ended with proposals submitted for 9 new FOP research projects and this summer the ACT for FOP Scientific Advisory Board, chaired by Dr. Vicki Rosen, will review each application and select grants to be funded.
We anticipate the IFOPA will invest more than $200,000 in funding new FOP grants in 2020. Gifts of all sizes are needed to meet this funding need. You can give at ifopa.org/donate and select ACT for FOP Research Grant Program as your designation.
Scientific Advisory Board
Applications are reviewed by a Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) that is free of conflict of interest and has relevant and appropriate expertise related to FOP to evaluate proposals. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Marie Demay and thank Dr. Ernestina Schipani for her five years of service on the SAB.

2019 Funders
The ACT for FOP Grant Program was launched in 2015 by friends and family of Sona Brinkman. Today others who are passionate about curing FOP have joined them in funding the ACT for FOP Grant Program with lead gifts from: Joshua’s Future of Promises, Canadian FOP Network, FOP Australia, FOP Friends, FOP Italia and friends and family of Sona Brinkman. The IFOPA's 2019 #GivingTuesday campaign also raised funds for the ACT for FOP Grant Program.
You can give to support these critical FOP research grants at ifopa.org/donate; select ACT for FOP Research Grant Program as your designation.
