This August and September, you have two options to fundraise for In Pursuit of a Cure Day of Giving on September 16.
1. Set up a Personal Fundraising Page
By setting up your own personal fundraising page, you become part of this 35-year legacy of families and friends fundraising to cure FOP. Whether you’re honoring a loved one or simply passionate about research progress, your efforts help advance the science, accelerate discoveries, and bring us closer to the finish line.

2. Fill Your Blackout Board. Fuel the Cure.
You can be part of a 35-year legacy of raising funds for FOP research—simply by filling your own fundraising Blackout Board!
It’s simple: each board includes a grid of donation amounts. Your goal is to "black out" the board by asking friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, your place of worship, your child’s school community—anyone in your circle—to choose a square and make a gift.
This is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a powerful way to share your story, raise awareness, and invite others to join in the pursuit of a cure. Many people want to help but don’t know how. A Blackout Board gives them an easy, meaningful way to say yes.
Boards will be available from August 1 through September 30, with the biggest fundraising push leading up to our Day of Giving on September 16. We’ll provide everything you need: a printable board,* sample messages, and ideas to make it fun and engaging.
Whether you fill your board one square at a time or host a full-on challenge, every gift helps us reach our $500,000 campaign goal—and brings us closer to new treatments and, one day, a cure.
