Bamboo Tongs
Many people with FOP use tongs for eating, holding, and reaching. Unlike the more common metal ones, however, these 10” bamboo tongs are very light and not as noticeable as the more child-friendly Zoostick described elsewhere. They can be used to reach things nearby, like items on a table or desk, or to eat small foods that don't go on a fork. Sources/Directions: The 10” bamboo tongs can be found at Asian food markets. Price: $2.00 each (approximately) Alternatives & Related Items: 1. In addition to the 10” bamboo tongs used for cooking, there are longer ones (15½ inches) used for serving. I found the shorter ones readily available at a nearby Asian market, but the longer ones were harder to locate. Comments: The store I bought the tongs from does not mail things out. You have to find an Asian Market near you, then call to see if they have the tongs or go check for yourself. Another source might be a restaurant supply store.Reviews (0)
