Disability Discount Tickets
Most theaters will accommodate a person with a disability in a variety of ways, including discounts on the price. In New York City, for example, Connie, the mother of a young girl with FOP named Sophia, went to the box office of the show "The Music Man" and explained that her daughter’s FOP situation. She told them that any injury or trauma from the crowd could be catastrophic and they were very kind. They arranged for a $20 ticket for Sophia and a companion, plus the seats were in the back near a handicapped accessible bathroom and a quick exit after the show. It was definitely worthwhile to take the time to educate people about FOP and ask for accommodations. In New York City, call Dave Snowden, the Manager Of Disabled Services at Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall, for more information -- 212-465 6034. In order to utilize the discount, you fax them proof of your disability (like a letter from your doctor), and then you stay registered for all events.Reviews (0)
