Please see the attached letter from Dr. Bob Pignolo. The transition from his role at the University of Pennsylvania to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota marks an important turning point after his remarkable 15 years of service to our community.  Gracious, thoughtful, always helpful – everything we could want in someone who has been a key member of the Center at Penn.  Fortunately Dr. Pignolo’s commitment to our mission – to care for FOP patients and find a cure for FOP – will not be diminished.  Indeed his move to the Mayo clinic, a renowned medical center, may well open up new avenues for educational and clinical service to the patient community as well as research for an effective treatment.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to Dr. Pignolo.  We wish him and his family the very best as they move to Minnesota.  As one who was born and raised there, I am confident that the Pignolos will enjoy their new surroundings, and I know that the people there will be blessed to have them.
