En
l'absence de traitement efficace contre la FOP, il est
toutefois possible d'atténuer l'intensité
des symptômes liés à une poussée.
Si
ceux-ci sont identiques d'un patient à l'autre,
il est important de noter que chacun réagit différemment
à un même traitement; la décision
de prescrire tel médicament plutôt qu'un
autre en revient donc au médecin.
Par
ailleurs, afin d'élaborer un traitement efficace
contre la FOP, nous travaillons à la conception
d'animaux modèles en collaboration avec l'Institute
of Molecular Pathology de Vienne (Autriche).
Enfin,
les progrès effectués dans la compréhension
de la FOP et la découverte du gène responsable
de la maladie permettront d'élaborer de nouvelles
thérapies.
